Those who know us know that we’re proud parents and quick to brag, even as one of the kids gives us a “I can’t believe you just said that” look. But the proudest moments aren’t always about the winning, the prizes.
Erin had a great weekend – she accomplished so much with her new horse that it was overwhelming.
But, the proudest moment for me was after the shows were over. There was an incident in the show ring where another rider/horse accidentally cut in front of Erin. The other horse then kicked Erin’s horse causing her to rear resulting in Erin being thrown. Thankfully, Erin knew what to do and she landed safely on her feet. She got back on and then finished the class with a 3rd place ribbon. The other girl was crying, another girl started crying, but they all finished the class.
After the class was over, Erin was able to push past the anger and went to the other girl and hugged her, told her that she was fine, the horse was fine, that everyone was fine and that’s what was most important. I stood back and watched our lovely young lady handle a situation with such maturity that I was awestruck.
That was my proudest moment.

On your mark - Get Set - GO!
Wow, what a week we are having. It started with me making a list on Monday morning and wondering how in the world we were going to be able to fit it all in. Dave has extra evening activities. I have evening things. Erin has meetings, work, banquet, horse show, babysitting. Andrew had job orientation, work. And only one vehicle! I need to get my car to the shop but I have yet to figure out when I can do that. Maybe tonight will be the night... Maybe, maybe not.

Communication
Dave and I bent under pressure and have both created Facebook pages. Actually, we were hearing about events after they happened and the response has been...oh, it was on Facebook... There are so many means of communication but honestly, don't you think the best is still done with a smile you can really see and a hug you can really feel? But, mass communication is the wave so we're riding it too.
Funny thing happened today is that I was reading the comics and one of my faves, Mutts, had a picture of a goldfish in a bowl looking one way with a puzzled look and then looking the other way in the next caption - both times to an empty room. In the third frame he said "I need to get on Facebook."
Ain't it the truth.

"Zed, we have a bug."
No, not an alien cockroach - it's the "Craig's List" bug!
Dave put an item for sale on Craig's List Saturday and within 5 minutes he had a buyer and then several other callers shortly thereafter. Someone came to get it on Sunday right after church.
Now the search is on for other items in our house that we don't need. We might just be sitting on the floor to watch television if this gets too serious.
(btw, I'm marking all of the boxes that contain my old things with Dave's name instead, just in case...)
